Restricted Key Systems
Apex Locksmiths recommend and supply Restricted key systems because they are a
convenient, easy to use, high security option that is ideal to maximise your residential, industrial
and commercial security. Restricted key systems are most often used for the home security system,
investment properties, businesses and large scale complexes.
The main benefit of restricted profile keys is that they guarantee unauthorised persons cannot make
additional copies without your knowledge or approval. Appropriate authorisation is required
(e.g. a letter of consent), which ensures you control over the copying and distribution of restricted
keys. For added security, who authorised, when and number of restricted keys cut is always recorded. |
Restricted master-keying is also available, appropriate for security systems for commercial,
industrial & residential use. Master-keying is where a system can be tailored so entry is permitted
in certain areas but the key will not operate locks in unauthorised sections. Multiple areas can be
accessed by the 1 key, however only the master-key, where a limited quantity can be distributed at your
discretion, will operate all doors. Unauthorised persons are prevented from making duplicates of
restricted master keys.
Which security system is right for me?
Abloy, Bi-Lock, IP3 and LG1 series are of the most popular restricted systems available.
Different key systems have varying specifications, e.g:
- Abloy restricted systems are configured on disc cylinders
- Bi-Lock key systems utilise up to 12 chambers with 4 depths per chamber
- IP3 & LG1 key systems both operate on 6-pinned in-line cylinders
